What is  Moxa, Cupping and Electro-Acupuncture?

Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, sterile, single use, disposable needles into specific sites (acupuncture points) along the body’s energy pathways (meridians) to clear energy blockages and encourage the normal flow of energy, or Qi, throughout the body.

We may also stimulate the acupuncture points using other methods, including acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, laser therapy, electro-stimulation and massage, in order to rebalance the flow of qi.

We may often use additional ear seeds or needles in a system known as Auricular Acupuncture which is a microsystem technique of Acupuncture and is very useful for calming the mind, supporting the endocrine system, withdrawal from substances. The benefit being that it’s more convenient and does not rely on needle use, or lying down, and the seeds can remain on the ear beyond the length of the sessions. It can be used in combination with a Traditional Acupuncture Session or as a stand alone therapy.
